Eagles battle, but Mules win 10-7
Before Game Two of Alamo Heights’ Class 4A bi-district series against Brackenridge, Mules coach Glynn Tschirhart said he was impressed that Brackenridge played with pride even late in a 20-0 defeat, and expected a much better effort from the Eagles Friday night.
Brackenridge responded perhaps better than Tschirhart expected. They took two-run leads in the first and fourth innings.
But Luke Maloy’s two-run double and Adrian Nadeau’s game-ending pitching stint led the Alamo Heights Mules to a 10-7 comeback victory, giving them a sweep of Brackenridge.
Alamo Heights (25-6-1) trailed 2-0 after one inning and 6-4 in the middle of the fourth before taking command for good in the bottom of the fourth.
