Our Lady Jackets ended up getting 2nd Place in District,
and advancing as far as the First Round of Playoffs.

On Valentines Day our girls traveled to Bandera, where they would face off against Johnson City for their first playoff game. It was an intense game, everyone was on their feet and cheering on our girls. But sadly, on Valentines Day our girls came up short. With a final score of 37-39, only losing by 2 points and not being able to advance to the second round of playoffs. Though our Lady Jackets and Seniors had gotten their hearts broken, they still played an amazing game and made Sabinal proud.

Our boys placed first in their District, making them Distict Champs again. They got a Bi in the first round of playoffs which put them automatically in the 2nd Round of playoffs to face off against Port Aransas. The game took place on Feb. 25th and was held at Tilden's Gym. The game was exciting as any normal Yellow Jacket game would be, it was a constant back and forth game. In the end, our boys fought harder than Port Aransas and won by 3 points. It was such an overwhelming feeling seeing how happy our boys were! The final score was 55-52, making our boys Area Champs!

The Yellow Jackets went on to play their 2nd Playoff game of the season against a team they've already played twice, the Stacey Eagles. Our Jackets lost to the Eagles the first time they played them, but the second time our boys didn't let it happen again. The Yellow Jackets and The Eagles were tied, and it all came down to this playoff game who would advance to the Regional Tournament in Austin. The game started of surprising, our boys were down by a little more than 20 points in the first quarter. But of course Sabinal doesn't give up without a fight. Our Jackets madea comeback, the game was extremely suspensful. In the end, our boys played their hearts out but came up short 5 points in that Medina Valley gym. The final score on March 3rd was 55-60, Stacey.

Though our boys lost, our entire Sabinal community is nothing but proud of them and how far they've gotten. Congratulations boys on another successful season, can't wait for next year! We will miss our Senior boys dearly; Thomas, Ben, Justin, Eric, Javier, and Jesse!

As for our Baseball and Softball teams,
Our girls have already started District. They have played 2 games so far over Spring Break against Charlotte and Bracketville. Unfortunately both games our Lady Jackets lost. But it's okay, District is not over yet. Keep fighting hard ladies! Our Jacket Baseball guys haven't started District yet but it will start on Friday, March 25th. Come out and support our Yellow Jacket teams!

That is all for now, until next time!
