Over the past two years, the Harper Ladyhorns have adjusted very well in the move from 1A to 2A, even advancing farther as a 2A team this year than in their 1A seasons.

But last night at Wimberley, they ran into the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs, and the result was a 57-31 win for Nixon-Smiley, and a trip to the 2A regional tournament on Friday in Seguin.

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs came into the 2009 UIL 2A playoffs from District 28-2A, where they finished in 3rd place.

The Harper Lady Horns took second place in 27-2A…

And this ended up being a great match, with Nixon-Smiley edging Harper in five sets: 23-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11.

It was a great night for football in the Hill Country, and on Friday, the Harper Longhorns traveled to Comfort.

And on Parents’ Night in Comfort, Texas the Bobcats took care of business, defeating Harper 44-22 - clinching a playoff spot in the process.

We want to thank all of the wonderful people on both sides of the stadium for their hospitality last night!

If you haven’t been out to a track meet yet, you are missing some incredible athletic performances. And as you can see above, the 1A and 2A team track meets are just as exciting.

Teams participating in this meet included Harper, Comfort, Stacey, and Bracken Christian.

Reagan Randle can pass. He can run. He can score. And the best news for Harper is that he’s going to play three more years after this season.
Randle threw for nearly 100 yards on six-of-nine passing and a score, and ran for three more touchdowns in the Longhorns 49-7 win over Johnson City.
Harper moves to 5-0 overall, 1-0 in district play.
