What a night it was at Tejas Rodeo on Saturday, as the top 15 cowboys and cowgirls competed for the title of Tejas Rodeo Champion.
Some of the area contenders included Shelbi Jo Clatenburg, just 12 years old, and one of the best barrel racers anywhere; Dani Powers, 17, of Smithson Valley High School; Suade Furr, 13, of Boerne Middle School; and Amy Elliot, 17.
