At times, Taureen Waller-Prince seems unstoppable.

His fallaway jumper, combined with his ability to fight through double and triple teams to score in the post, have earned him a scholarship at Long Island University and early favorite status for San Antonio player of the year.

When Warren needed to establish a lead, they went to Waller-Prince and he scored 11 points in the first quarter.

Then, when Clark twice took the lead in the final minutes of regulation, they went to Waller-Prince again.  He scored Warren’s last six points of regulation and the first two in overtime, leading the Warriors to a 65-62 victory Tuesday evening at the Paul Taylor field house.

Waller-Prince’s opening bucket in overtime ignited a 12-0 run, which included two three-pointers from Anthony Trevino.  Trevino scored no points in regulation, but was ready for his overtime opportunity.

Warren’s biggest lead in overtime (62-50) was greater than their biggest lead in regulation, 20-12 early in the second quarter.  Clark trailed 65-58 with less than 19 seconds left in overtime, scoring their last two baskets in rapid succession.

The Cougars twice took the lead in the fourth quarter, 48-46 on one Shawn Gulley score, then 50-48 on a dunk.  The first time, Waller-Prince response by drawing a foul and hitting two free throws.  The second time, Waller-Prince hit a field goal to tie the game with 2 minutes remaining.

Clark used up the last two minutes of regulation on their final possession, missing with a minute remaining, getting an offensive rebound, then playing for the last shot without converting.

Adam Perez led the Cougars with 17 points, hitting a pair of three pointers in Clark’s last ditch drive in overtime.  Cal Harr hit three treys on his way to 13 points.

Warren (25-4, 8-2 in 27-5A) takes over second place in 27-5A with the victory, one game behind Brandeis in the loss column.  Clark (20-7, 8-3 in 27-5A) is in third place, one game ahead of 7-4 O’Connor.
