Cross Country: Brackett's Kelsey Bruce, Luling's Carley Glass, Luling boys team win state

Kelsey Bruce won the 1A Girls UIL State Cross Country title, while Carley Glass of Luling captured the 2A title on Saturday at Round Rock Settlers Park.

In addition, the Luling boys cross country team won the state title. It's their second championship for the boys cross country program in school history; the Eagles also won state in 1999.

Bruce, who is also the SAsports.com student writer for Brackett High School, won her race in her fourth appearance at Round Rock. Glass, a sophomore at Luling, defeated her nearest competitor by over 10 seconds.
